Insurance for Doctors' Surgeries

Primary Care Plus Policy

The standard package provides cover for 'All Risks' on Surgery Contents, Practice Interruption, Employer's Liability, Public/Products Liability, Glass, Money and Assault. The Single Policy can apply to Group Practices with several "branches" if required.

Surgery Contents

The contents of your surgery are covered against accidental loss or damage, together with the following:

  • Refrigerated Drugs (up to £2500).
  • Contents of 'Black Bags' (Drugs & Documents) in transit (up to £5000).
  • Portable Surgery Equipment, anywhere in UK (up to £10,000).
  • Automatic Seasonal Flu Vaccine Increase (£1500).
  • Full Theft Cover (including ‘walk-in’ theft while surgery is occupied)

Practice Interruption

Covers loss of income due to any of the following:

  • Damage (as defined) at the Surgery. Up to £500,000 standard Sum Insured for a 12 month Indemnity Period with options to increase.
  • Denial of Access, including when caused by acts of the Emergency Services.
  • Damage to any Pharmacy within 500 metres of the Surgery.
  • Damage to the premises of Suppliers, including Computer Support companies.
  • Damage at one Surgery which affects income at another in the Group.
  • Accidental failure of Public Utilities.
  • Outbreak of Human Disease or Murder, Suicide or Food Poisoning.
  • Loss of Book Debts (£2500 Automatic Cover).

Other

  • Money Cover including to and from Bank (£3000 limit with £1500 in Safe).
  • Wide Personal Assault Cover included for all employees (not restricted to 'hold-ups'). Up to £10,000 for Death & Capital Benefits, £100 per week for Temporary Total Disablement.
  • Employer's Liability, in the event of an employee suffering bodily injury at work (up to £10 million).
  • Public/Products Liability (limit £2m.), covering your Practice's legal liability to the general public for accidental injury or damage, other than due to Medical Malpractice or Professional Negligence.
  • Glass breakage cover, extended to include sanitary fittings.

Optional Extensions

The Primary Care Plus Surgery Policy can be extended to cover a wide range of options to suit the specific requirements of your Practice.
