Practice Locum Cover

We now offer a flexible and very competitive means of additional funding for your Practice should any of your named Partners or employees be absent from work due to personal accident or sickness. Market-leading product features include:

  • Level premiums for all Practitioners and Staff up to age 60 - Older Practitioners are considered on an individual basis.
  • Careful and discreet individual consideration of past medical conditions, and specific consideration is given to unusual or hazardous leisure activities.
  • Weekly benefits options between £250 and £1500 per person at standard rates.
  • Standard period of 28 days absence before a claim is payable with options to increase. Cover operates for 52 weeks from Date of Disablement.
  • 24 hour Worldwide cover taking in many hazardous leisure activities.
  • Medical Expenses are included in respect of Temporary Disablement up to 20% of any claim submitted.
  • "Gold" option gives lump sum benefits of between £50,000 and £125,000 for Death or Permanent Disablement, and scaled (%) capital benefits for loss of fingers, thumbs, knees, wrists etc aswell as the usual Disablement cover. The Policy also covers the cost of hiring a locum, although actual locum-hire is not necessary for the claim to be paid.
  • "Silver" option offers a very cost-effective alternative by restricting benefits to weekly payments in respect of Temporary Total Disablement of any Partner due to accident or sickness. This cover includes an "Emergency Bolster" lump sum of £5,000 in the event of the death of any practitioner. Costs are further controlled by making the product a "Pure" Locum cover offering (which only pays out if a Locum is then actually employed).
  • Each basis offers a low-cost option is available to cover "Non-clinical staff" (Death Benefit 1 X Annual Salary, Weekly Benefits for 75% of Weekly Wage). Simple Single Proposal Acceptance, rated on annual wageroll.
  • Stress or Anxiety is Excluded
  • Cover provided by Sector Specialists with Lloyds of London Security (Syndicate 1206) backed by Global Insurance Carriers, Gerling.
  • No deposit, 10 month payment option available – 5.8% Interest Rate (16.43 % APR)
